Nolting® Longarm and Fun Quilter Machines - Quilting & Sewing Classes
History of Nolting® Longarm Quilting Machines
|
Quilting machines date back to 1955 when Fred Nolting began designing and building all types of both sewing and quilting machines. Mr.
Nolting began designing the current style of longarm quilting machines during the 1980's.
Nolting® is the original and oldest manufacturer of longarm quilting machines. Fred Nolting set the standards that all of the others followed.
Unsurpassed is the standard for quality, plus Nolting's® down-to-earth prices and personal service. Today Nolting® longarm quilting machines
are in service throughout the United States and in many foreign countries.
Over the years Nolting® has grown. In March of 1995 the company moved to a much larger building in Stover, Missouri. In April of 2001 Mr.
Nolting sold the company and retired. The company was purchased with the current ownership continuing the tradition of quality and
innovation. In November of 2001 Nolting® Manufacturing, Inc. moved to a larger manufacturing plant located in Hiawatha, Iowa, a suburb of
Cedar Rapids.
Nolting® continues the tradition of quality and innovation with the introduction of new machine designs and electronic upgrades. Besides the
commercial longarm quilting machines, Nolting® now offers a compact longarm, the Fun Quilter, for hobby quilters. This machine, as well as
the commercial longarm quilting machines are available with a standard speed controller or the new electronic stitch regulator from
Intellistitch®.
Nolting® Manufacturing continues to grow because their customers love the high quality, value priced quilting machines. It is the goal of
Nolting to offer new products and services that will always keep to the traditions of quality, innovations, and down-to-earth pricing.

Joyce Blowers, owner of Delightful Quilting & Sewing, is passionate about sewing, quilting, and machine embroidery. Her Mom taught
her to sew at a young age. In junior high home economics class she made her first skirt and with several more years in a 4-H sewing
club, she was making nearly all of her clothes by the time she graduated from high school.
Joyce has a background as an educator teaching high school science and as a high school college and career counselor. She also
spent a year developing an international student program for a private Christian school, then coordinated the program for a couple of
years. She is the former owner of New Vision Carpet Cleaning, a company known for its excellence in textile cleaning (carpets,
upholstery, & oriental rugs), giving clients a visible difference in cleaning.
Joyce has shared her love of sewing, especially heirloom sewing at a local dealer's class night and at weekend retreats. Her heirloom
treasures have been featured in two issues of the Janome Digest which is no longer published. She enjoys challenges and enjoys
making quilts as gifts for special occasions and has been quilting since the renaissance of quilting began in the early 1980's. Joyce
has both hand quilted and machine quilted and the last few years she had the opportunity to quilt her quilts using a longarm machine.
It is Joyce's goal to help others interested in sewing and quilting have a delightful time doing it. Joyce is committed to this goal by
offering both technique and project classes and selling Nolting® compact (Fun Quilter) and longarm quilting machines - machines
with the features quilters want at the most competitive prices.
