Placing the laser light on top of the machine head is useful for two purposes

• Use laser point as a reference for placing points with automation. The laser is adjusted to where the needle pierces the quilt sandwich. Adjust the laser light to a medium to fine point of light.
• Use the laser to quilt from paper patterns set to the side of the machine head, such as paper block patterns, or to use a paper pattern to quilt side borders.

The Nolting machines have a plug in the center of the top of the head. Remove the plug using an Allen driver and screw the post into the hole. Tighten the nuts to keep the post positioned.
