Use a foot designed for the job. Original equipment Nolting hopping foot. Nolting machines usually ship with the high visibility foot or ruler foot.
High Viz (visibility) Foot - ships on most new machines. The 1/2" round thinner wall foot with a side shank offers the greatest visibility for hand guided quilting.
Note: changing from the high viz to any other foot, or any of the feet to the high viz may require adjusting the height of the hopping foot. The clearance under the foot in the down most position and the throat plate should be the thickness of a dime.
